Wow! Robbie and I can’t believe how time flew during 2010. What a year it was for our local market. We started the year out with a real bang and then the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster happened and things came to a halt…or did they? Yes we did have a real slow down during those few months, but the last quarter of the year really picked up and we experienced our busiest 4th quarter ever! December was a phenomenal month for us and we were not alone as many of our co-associates were just as busy!
So now here we are beginning a new year and trying to plan. Planning is key to any business and our business is no different. Every year Robbie and I sit down together and we set our personal and professional goals. We believe that we must have a vision and set goals to reach our vision so we can view how we are progressing and make any adjustments needed. Our business plan includes education, marketing, customer relations, and personal goals. We even create our individual vision boards on paper to assist us in staying focused and carry that in our calendars so when we always have a visual reminder. As we meet those goals we check them off and then at the end of the year we evaluate our plan and start a new one.
I have to admit since our December was so busy we have not yet set down and planned 2011 but we will this week I know. So what are your goals for 2011? Finish getting that desired designation? Re-design your web site? Plan a new marketing campaign? Join new networking opportunities? Volunteer in more community organizations or events? Spend more time with family or make more “me”? Whatever it is…write it down and put it in a place where you will see it often….daily! You will surprise yourself at how more focused you will become and in return more successful and satisfied.
Let’s get started and perhaps we can share our progress during the year!
Good Luck!
